Puppy Halloween

The Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy class had a party at Mt. Tabor SUN Community School.
As well as the costumes, there was a relay race, balloons and lots of excitement. Thanks to their training, most of them were calmer than I was.

Time for the judging.

And the winner is...

More Lace

These lace photos were taken at the Portland Lace Society's meeting, October 3rd, at Sellwood Community Center. Besides the Portland group, there were lace makers from Washington and elsewhere.

Train Tracks & Sunflowers

This morning I passed the garden at Lewis Elementary School. There is an impressive environmental education program, with the garden being just one element. This sunflower was of just moderate size (about as big as a plate). Others were as big as my head or as delicate as a daisy.

I took some pictures on my way back from Swan Island. Pulled off Greeley Ave. and took some shots of railroad cars. It is so seldom that we have clear blue skies in Oregon, I felt I had to take advantage of the opportunity.
